Ayşe Uzun Pasternack, a member of the SPG’s Geodelphia team, was asked by Women In Geothermal (WinG) to accept the 2023 Women In Geothermal Courageous Award for Basak Ҫimen from Turkey, who could not attend the conference. Basak Cimen is a project and legal process manager with fourteen years experience in the energy sector, now working at the Celikler Holding. WinG is an international organization whose aim is to promote the education, professional development, and advancement of women in the geothermal community. This award was presented at the Geothermal Rising Conference, which took place in Reno, NV, in October 2023.
Before Ayşe left Turkey she worked for Zorlu Energy, Enther Energy and Sanko Energy. She was a member of Women In Geothermal (WinG-Turkey), and she is currently a volunteer member of WinG-US. Ayşe is working on a MBA at Temple University and has a 2 year-old son.
