Chapter Leadership Roles
Your journey as a Sierra Club volunteer can lead to a role in our leadership team!
Chapter (statewide) volunteer leaders provide administrative support for our work, including fundraising and budgeting, running elections for Group and Chapter executive committees and at-large delegates, supporting the outings program, and guiding responses to conservation issues. They provide leadership for legal action, political and legislative activities, equity initiatives, statewide allied organization collaborations, and much more.
Learn about current Chapter Volunteer Leaders.
Regional Groups
Regional Groups organize and support volunteer initiatives locally. They develop strategies for local advocacy, initiate the political endorsement process, and represent the Sierra Club in their communities. Volunteers who complete the outings leader program can plan and guide outdoor adventures with their local group.

Statewide Teams
Conservation teams focus on a wide array of state-level environmental issues including clean and dirty energy, air and water quality, public lands, zero waste, and more. Learn more about our conservation teams.
The Chapter Advocacy Team (C.A.T.) responds rapidly to influence state and federal policymaking. Team volunteers learn and practice their advocacy, lobbying, and outreach skills. Learn more about C.A.T.
