Introducing Rebecca Deegan, Outdoors for All Organizer
Rebecca Deegan has joined Sierra Club PA as the new Outdoors for All Organizer in Philadelphia. A Philly resident for three years, Rebecca is coming to us from the Schuylkill Center for Environmental Education, where her work focused on connecting youth and families to nature at the Center, in classrooms, and Philadelphia communities. While at the Schuylkill Center, Rebecca had the honor of working with some of the most inspiring and passionate young environmentalists in Philadelphia
Rebecca could not be more excited to continue and expand this work in Philly with the Sierra Club. Philadelphia is one of the leading cities in the US for green spaces per capita, and safe access to all of those spaces is the fundamental right of every human. Rebecca will work to establish an extensive network of partnerships which will break down the physical and socio-economic barriers to outdoor spaces that people face daily.
Rebecca is inspired by the tireless efforts and passion of her new colleagues. She can’t wait to contribute to the impact of this organization in Pennsylvania and in the city that she loves.
