Delta-Sierra Group

The Delta-Sierra Group is a regional unit of the Sierra Club located in San Joaquin County in Northern California that organizes outdoor activities and focuses attention on environmental issues. We all agree to practice the Sierra Club motto that you should "Explore, Enjoy and Protect the Planet." Whether you are a member or not, please practice the motto!

Current projects that we are working on have updates on the Conservation Updates document that includes the BayoTech Hydrogen Production Project, Golden State Natural Resources Wood Pellet Export Project, the South Stockton Commerce Center and many warehouse projects, and educational events.

Join us as our colleague from Stanislaus County, Elaine Gorman, shares her new book, Valley Ventures, which offers 20 hikes that are easily accessible from Stanislaus and San Joaquin Counties, including hikes in the San Joaquin Valley, the foothills, and eastern Bay Area.

Elaine Gorman taught science at Mark Twain Jr. High School and Roosevelt Jr. High School in Modesto, and is a Certified California Naturalist. She has been a Yokuts Group Sierra Club outings leader for over 30 years.
