Here is yet another opportunity to help our ongoing efforts to protect Coyote Valley!
The City of San Jose is evaluating potential land uses along the Monterey Road Corridor in Coyote Valley. This effort seeks to accommodate the aspirations of land owners for flexibility, and at the same time protect natural resources of Coyote Valley. As always, we remain vigilant, and we need your help!
The in-person public community meeting is scheduled for May 2nd, 2024, from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at the Southside Community Center, located at 5585 Cottle Road, San José, CA 95123, in the Multi-Purpose Room. This will be like an open house, with stations around the room and displays of information, maps, etc., so people can walk around, ask questions and place stickers.
We hope you can attend the meeting to help ensure that any permitted land uses in the Monterey Corridor will have a low impact on the environment, and do not interfere with animal movement along Coyote Creek as well as East-West through Coyote valley. Furthermore, noise and light pollution must not be allowed to proliferate!
Each station is an opportunity for you to visualize the proposed land use and offer feedback to ensure that ecosystems and wildlife are not disturbed. Please think carefully about each proposal: Does it produce light or noise? Could it interfere with wildlife mobility? We hope you attend this meeting and provide input to protect Coyote Valley!
