Evansville, Ind – Faith, clean energy, and environmental advocates will host a press conference this Saturday detailing the various reasons why House Bill 1007 will create massive energy inflation throughout Indiana, including Evansville. The contentious legislation would cause massive electric rate increases for residential customers, in part, to bankroll monopoly electric utility development of polluting gas-burning power plants and financially risky nuclear power, while creating unnecessary red tape that could drive up utility bills when a coal plant retires.

The Sierra Club continues to advocate for tech companies and utilities to clean up the electric grid while protecting utility customers from potentially speculative data center developments.
