Green Country Group and TARRA Advocate For The Arkansas River

On Labor Day weekend, Green Country Group volunteers partnered with Tulsa Area Arkansas River Advocates at the Big Dam Party to keep up pressure on the city of Tulsa to clean up the water, make sure folks know the water is not safe for primary bodily contact, and get folks excited about fish spawning in the spring. Volunteers handed out 150 information fliers and 250 masks to parents and small children to remind attendees that the water isn't safe for swimming and the river ecosystem needs our help. It was a tremendous success with many Tulsans learning about Sierra Club for the first time and everyone who met the team seemed very grateful to have the facts and a way to reach out for more info.
