Kara Joy McKee, Director
A lifelong Oklahoman, McKee brings experience in non-profit and business leadership, advocacy, and elected public service to her role as Oklahoma Chapter Director. Raised in Norman, McKee graduated from the University of Oklahoma where she studied Botany and Anthropology. Her career includes leadership roles at the Oklahoma Food Cooperative, Kendall Whittier, Inc., Oklahoma Policy Institute, and two terms representing District 4 on the Tulsa City Council. Today she lives in Tulsa, and she has already begun traveling across the state to meet with members and advance Sierra Club’s mission.

Legislative Program
The Oklahoma Chapter works with local, state and federal elected officials and governmental agencies on environmental policies, rules and laws. Our goal is to protect our air and water and move towards a more sustainable future. We advocate for renewable energy and clean transportation.
