National Park Service Centennial

The Sierra Club is celebrating the Centennial of the National Park Service. Sierra Club kicked off our celebration in January with NPS Director Jonathan Jarvis, Michael Brune, Allison Chin, and the founders of Outdoor Afro and Latino Outdoors discussing the future of our national parks.  View it here!

Here are some important ways to learn more and participate in the NPS Centennial:

1 Sign up for a webinar on Thursday, February 25 to discuss how you can participate in the Centennial locally, where to ask for help when needed, intentional ways to grow new capacities in the outings program, how we are getting the message out and how it connects to the work you are doing locally.

2 Host an Outing: Sierra Club will feature 100 Outings in April to kick-off the celebration. Interested in hosting a NPS100 Outing? Fill out this form

3 IMAX FILM: Sierra Club has partnered with the IMAX film National Parks Adventure which is premiering in cities across the country on Feb 12th.  Consider spreading the word and partnering with your local theater for an event, for ideas or more information, contact adrienne.bramhall@sierraclub.org

4 Additional Resources: Learn more at sierraclub.org/nps100. A central Clubhouse page for resources has been created here in preparation for the August anniversary with more materials soon to be added.  For more info sign up for Sierra Club’s NPS100 list-serve or email brenna.muller@sierraclub.org
