DC Chapter Joins Petition for Reducing Trash in Anacostia River

On Thursday, October 8, the DC Chapter and its partners submitted a petition to government environmental agencies in DC and Maryland calling for revised regulations to reduce the amount of trash in the Anacostia River.

The Sierra Club, Washington DC Chapter is committed to reducing the negative impact of trash pollution on community enjoyment of the Anacostia, both on the water and along the river’s shores. It's time to revisit existing rules and build a stronger framework for watershed clean-up efforts.  See the petition here:  https://drive.google.com/file/d/0Bx1-3bBqcpK6TExLU0NoYTJrcGdaWnFuclcwQVY5SGxmMjBr/view

We believe the Anacostia can, and should, be trash free.
