EPA Public Hearing on Smog and Clean Air on January 29

On January 29 in Washington, DC, the EPA will be hosting a hearing on its proposed updates on national protections to national clean-air protections against smog pollution.

Smog is one of the worst air pollutants to come from burning fossil fuels. It's responsible for tens of thousands of asthma attacks in America every year. The EPA estimates that "the benefits of meeting the proposed standards will significantly outweigh the costs, preventing asthma attacks, heart attacks, missed school days and premature deaths, among other health effects."

Fossil fuel industry representatives will be testifying against this rule, putting their profits first by undermining these public health and environmental protections.

It's critical that we demonstrate overwhelming support for clean air at this vital public hearing. The EPA needs to hear our voices to demand they finalize the strongest possible protections against smog pollution.

The Sierra Club is counting on members like you to attend this hearing!
