The D.C. Sierra Club has made the following additional endorsements in the 2014 General Election:
Mayor: David Catania
David Catania responded affirmatively to every question on the Club’s questionnaire and released a policy document highlighting his forward-looking policies on the environment. He demonstrated a clear knowledge of climate change and made suggestions as to things that he would do as Mayor to address this existential challenge. Dating back to his first years on the Council, he has amassed an admirable environmental voting record.
Council At-Large: Elissa Silverman
Elissa Silverman agrees with the Sierra Club on all issues and is very interested in making public transit a viable option for all commuters. She often bikes and uses buses, metro and moved near the street car in anticipation of its start.
Council At-large Robert White
Robert White had positive responses to every question on the Club’s questionnaire. He understands the issues, having worked on environmental policy for Eleanor Holmes Norton. He has a green roof on his new garage.
The D.C. Chapter has previously endorsed Antia Bonds in the At-Large race. The chapter has endorsed three people in a two seat race. All three will make very good councilmembers.
