Las Vegas ICO partners with agencies such as schools, churches, parks and recreation centers, and community youth centers. When partnerships are first established, agencies complete an application form and agency agreement form that outlines the responsibilities of both the agency staff and ICO leaders.
-
In general, agency staff responsibilities include: recruiting youth participants, distributing trip information paperwork to parents for signatures, and accompanying ICO leaders on the outings.
-
ICO Leaders responsibilities include: planning all accommodations for the trip, leading the trip, providing first aid assistance when needed, providing environmental education for the area, and teaching Leave No Trace principles.
-
ICO Leaders have completed Outdoor Leadership Training, First Aid certification, and CARP training (child abuse recognition and prevention). They have also passed criminal background and DMV checks.
