Washington, DC -- Today marks the final day of the comment period on Scott Pruitt’s plan to delay implementation of key safeguards limiting methane pollution from new oil and gas operations. The agency itself has acknowledged the public health threat this delay poses, particularly to children. But at the request of the oil and gas industry, Pruitt has moved to stay enforcement of this critical rule by two years.

ORLANDO - The Orlando City Commission unanimously approved a resolution today establishing a goal to move Orlando to 100 percent clean and renewable energy by 2050. Tulsa, OK - Today, the Sierra Club filed a state lawsuit in Oklahoma, challenging the legislature’s passage of H.B. 1449, a bill that institutes an arbitrary fee for the purchase of electric vehicles. The bill establishes a $100 fee for the purchase of an electric vehicle and $30 for the purchase of a hybrid vehicle without justification.

WASHINGTON, D.C.: Interior Secretary Zinke has issued a secretarial order beginning a review of federal and state sage grouse plans. The plans were the result of an extensive, bipartisan, collaborative agreement between conservationists, ranchers and local governments to save the sage grouse before it became endangered. Once found throughout the West, the Greater Sage Grouse are rapidly declining.
