Air quality in the Pittsburgh metropolitan area is among the worst in the nation, according to the American Lung Association State of the Air 2018 report released on Wednesday. The American Lung Association gave Pittsburgh an “F” grade for ozone and particle pollution and ranked the city 8th for annual particle pollution in the country, highlighting the need for Pittsburgh to transition off of dirty fuels towards 100 percent clean and renewable energy.

WASHINGTON, D.C. -- Today, HSBC, Europe’s largest bank, announced that in line with the goals of the Paris Climate Agreement, they will no longer finance new tar sands oil projects, new offshore oil and gas projects in the Arctic, and most coal projects globally, with the exception of coal projects in Bangladesh, Indonesia, and Vietnam up until the end of 2023.
