Yesterday, on the eve of the first day of a three-day Environmental Protection Agency hearing on the agency’s proposed regulation to clean up pollution from heavy-duty vehicles, 19 organizations sent a letter to the Truck & Engine Manufacturers Association and its members to stop lobbying against stronger federal and state regulations on truck pollution and to establish a 2035 zero-emission truck target for its member organizations.

Today, the Biden Administration announced the America the Beautiful Challenge, a $1 billion initiative to accelerate land, water, and wildlife conservation efforts across the United States. The initiative will be based on a public-private partnership to be administered by the National Fish and Wildlife Foundation, supported by an initial commitment of $440 million of federal funding.

The final SFY 2022 budget includes landmark investments in wetlands protection, clean energy, water infrastructure, and climate resilience. Today the Wisconsin Public Services Commission (PSC) approved the Koshkonong Solar Energy Center with two votes of support and one abstention. Koshkonong Solar Energy Center will add 300 megawatts (MW) of solar energy and 165 MW of battery storage to the energy grid, continuing Wisconsin’s much-needed transition to clean, renewable energy.

Rio Grande LNG, a fracked gas export terminal proposed for construction in South Texas, requested an extension from the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) for the facility to come online in 2028. Rio Grande LNG was initially expecting to be operational by 2026.

WASHINGTON, DC -- Moments ago, in a bipartisan effort, the Senate voted 53-47 to confirm Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson to the Supreme Court. Justice Jackson, the first Black woman to be nominated to the High Court, had previously been confirmed by the U.S. Senate with bipartisan support three times. She will bring a range of experience to the Supreme Court, including having been a public defender, serving on the U.S. Sentencing Commission, and serving as a judge for the majority of the past 10 years.
