Renewable energy is here, and Columbus, Ohio, is ready!
The Ready for 100 team is working towards a commitment from the City of Columbus to make the citywide switch to 100 percent renewable energy by 2050. As climate change is drastically affecting our everyday lives—hotter temperatures, extreme weather patterns, shortages of natural resources—we know there needs to be a large-scale change in how we live if we hope to see a global impact.
Nationally, there are many cities partnering with the Ready for 100 campaign by committing to working toward a future in renewable energy. We are part of Sierra Club's national campaign challenging 100 cities across the United States to set a target of 100 percent clean energy. We are excited to see the local Columbus campaign join the many cities that have already pledged a transition to clean energy, as well as inspire others to follow.
What are we doing now?
Right now, we’re just getting started on the Columbus campaign. Our team is busy researching the path to 100 percent renewable energy in our city and how we will attain that goal in the next 30+ years. While we ramp up to launching our campaign, the Ready for 100 team will be adding updates to our Facebook page, which we encourage you to like, follow and share with friends.
