Forest Restoration Project on Eakin Road: Earthday 2020

This land has historically been used as an illegal dumpsite! Tons of trash have been removed, but much needs to be done to restore this forested land. We will focus on removing invasive plants and planting beneficial trees. In the rear portion of the property, there is a wetland that serves as a resting area of waterfowl along a flyover migratory route. This site is in poor shape and requires a tremendous amount of attention. The goal is to, over time, create a vibrant space for wildlife to thrive and the public to enjoy.

Please dress appropriately, dress in layers and prepare for inclement weather, wear toe-covering boots/shoes, and/or items you don't mind getting dirty. Bring a reusable water bottle to stay hydrated. Work gloves, extra water, and snacks will be provided.

As thanks for your hard work, everyone will enjoy snacks and a variety of other goodies from Green Columbus!

Fundraising: For Earth Day's 50th anniversary, we want to make an even bigger difference while providing service sites with additional support that we hadn't been able to provide in the past. That way and with your help, we will be expanding Earth Day Columbus's impact overall. Fundraising opportunities, while added to each service site, will be completely optional.

The funds you raise here go towards making Earth Day Columbus even better.
