There is a new DRAFT Tahoe Regional Trails Strategy. COMMENTS ARE DUE BY MARCH 31ST. One thing is clear, more and more people have been recreating in the Tahoe Basin the last few years. When snow is not covering them, the 600 miles of trails in the Basin, many of them single-track trails, are used by a variety of users, often with conflicts arising. A growing number of e-bike users either ignore or do not know that they are only allowed on trails designated as motorized. Also, people do not get to work using recreational trails and more trails will not alleviate gridlocked roads. Please raise your voice and comment that this strategy needs to include improved signage at non-motorized trailheads, particularly for single-track multi-use trails, that e-bikes as well as dirt bikes are not allowed, and that more trails do not mean less traffic.
