MJD Capital Development and Ogilvy Consulting have been working with Placer County on the Boatworks Redevelopment Project through pre-development, project application review, Municipal Advisory Council review, and notice of preparation and scoping. The Draft Environmental Impact Report (EIR)/Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) will be available this spring and there will be three opportunities for public comment. Once the EIR/EIS is presented to North Tahoe Regional Advisory Council, there will be opportunity for written comments, and oral comments can be given at the Placer County Planning Commission, Tahoe Regional Planning Agency's (TRPA) Advisory Planning Commission, and TRPA Governing Board meetings. We'll let you know the dates of those meetings as they're announced.
The Boatworks Redevelopment Project itself has a footprint of 3.8 acres, on which three structures - the Boatworks Mall, Tahoe City Inn, and Tahoe City Library - will be demolished. The proposed project includes 8,000 square feet of new retail / small use space, 31 condo units, underground structured parking, and a hotel with 80-85 lodging units (depending on unit layout), three food/beverage offerings (with the largest restaurant on the first floor), a full service spa, swimming pool, and fitness center.
