Mission
We advocate for affordable, equitable, and sustainable development as well as clean transportation for all—urban and rural, Black and white, Native and newcomer.
What We Do
Transportation is the largest and fastest-growing source of climate change pollution in Minnesota. Land use—how our towns and cities develop—has a profound effect on equity, environment, and climate. We work to ensure that all development considers its impact on people and the environment.
Our work includes:
-
Advocating for equitable, fast, convenient, and affordable public transit.
-
Making streets safe and accessible for everyone, especially people walking, bicycling, and rolling.
-
Fighting polluting, traffic and sprawl-inducing highway expansion projects and help bring environmental justice to impacted communities.
-
Transitioning to electric vehicles with the Coalition for Clean Transportation.
-
Ensuring development is focused on sustainable growth, prioritizes affordable housing, and is transit-oriented.
-
Connecting people to places and issues with the annual Sierra Club Bike Tour and Transit to Green Space outings.
-
Coordinating with the Sierra Club Clean Transportation for All campaign.
