Welcome Randy Lyon as Legislative Chair!

 Maryland Sierra Club is proud to announce the appointment of new Legislative Chair Randy Lyon.  He follows Mark Posner, who transitioned out of the role in June 2021 after an outstanding period of service.  Randy is a longtime Sierra Club member and team player for the Maryland Chapter Executive Committee, including serving as Chapter Treasurer and Vice Chair.  Professionally, he has helped develop and implement federal environmental policy involving topics such as climate science and the protection of marine fisheries and published research on environmental management. He has also testified before the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change and U.S. EPA, and drafted testimony for the Maryland General Assembly. With his broad range in experience from testimony writing to voter registration and canvassing activities, Randy will be a great fit for this role. We look forward to having Randy develop a strong team of volunteer leaders and coordinate statewide legislative campaigns on some of his passions in legislation regarding climate, sustainability and environmental human rights.
