Be a Leader in Sierra Club's Legislative Work

Every year, Sierra Club volunteers and staff organize to support dozens of bills in Maryland to advance our environmental goals. Volunteers help draft testimony, coordinate with coalition partners, organize grassroots support and communications, lobby, and more. This work is coordinated by a legislative chair. In May our long-time legisaltive chair, Mark Posner, stepped down.

The Maryland Chapter is seeking an inspired and experienced volunteer to serve as Sierra Club, Maryland Chapter Legislative Chair.

Additionally, if you are interested in getting involved, but not ready to apply for the Chair role, we are welcome new legislative volunteers to serve in a variety of positions. Needs include:

  • Policy research and analysis of legislation
  • Creative communications, including social media, videos, art and more.
  • Event organizations, including educational events, rallies, films screenings, etc Make videos or artwork?
