Come out and kayak with us on Saturday May 11th starting at noon at Riverlands, near the Audubon in West Alton, MO. We will launch from the pavilion and be on the water for approximately 2 hours. We have the boats, paddles, and life jackets, all we need is you. Please dress for weather conditions, there will be an email going out to participants in advance regarding proper attire.
We will be paddling in Ellis bay, an off channel back water of the Mississippi River so there is no current, it will feel like a large lake. Wind, rain, and river level could certainly impact our plans and we will send you a notice of cancellation if conditions are deemed to hazardous for this outing. We will have a sufficient number of certified kayak professionals on the water to provide safety and instruction to make this an enjoyable and safe trip for everyone. Children above 10 years of age and adults are allowed to boat solo. Children below the age of 10 must paddle tandem with an adult, we have (2) tandem boats available. Boating gear provided by the USACE and Mississippi River Water Trail Assoc.
All participants must sign a waiver and MUST wear a life jacket the entire time on the water. Questions, contact Craig Heaton at 314-960-6746.
