On March 18th, Mattea Goetz (they/them) joined our Grand Canyon Chapter team -- as the new Grand Canyon Program Manager.
- Mattea brings a wealth of knowledge -- particularly in working with volunteers and frontline communities
- especially Indigenous activists and Tribes.
- Throughout Mattea's time both within and outside of school,
- Mattea has focused on questioning harmful forms of Western environmentalism
- and moving towards a land management future that is indigenous-led and relationship-focused.
- Mattea has focused on questioning harmful forms of Western environmentalism
- Mattea has worked extensively on local food systems projects
- served as the Tribal Community Engagement Fellow for Grand Teton National Park
- and most recently, acted as the Colorado River Basin Semester Co-Coordinator (with Groundwork, Colorado).

- In their free time, Mattea enjoys building relationships with the landscape
- through ethnobotany, climbing, hiking, rafting, crafting, and gardening.
