Inspiring Connections Outdoors

Inspiring Connections Outdoors contributes to the creation of more equitable outdoor environments by connecting youth from communities historically marginalized in the outdoor and environmental movement with outdoor activities that promote wellness, connection, and leadership.

Harrisburg ICO

Harrisburg Inspiring Connections Outdoors (HICO) was formed in 1996 by a group of five Sierra Club Pennsylvania Chapter's Governor Pinchot Group members who wanted to share their love of nature and the outdoors with youth. For more than twenty-one years, Harrisburg ICO leaders have enabled hundreds of urban youth to experience the beauty and wildness of Pennsylvania. Read more about HICO here!

Philadelphia ICO

Philly Inspiring Connections Outdoors is a Sierra Club program that aims to give urban youth a first-hand experience in the outdoors. Enabling youth to tap into the love of wild nature is one of the primary goals of Philly ICO. If you live in the Philly area and are interested in volunteering with young people for outdoor outings, get involved and support their work!
