Old Bill's Fun Run
Old Bill’s 2024 giving season is officially underway! When you make a contribution to Sierra Club Wyoming via Old Bill’s, your impact is multiplied thanks to matching funds from Old Bill’s Co-Challengers. Our engagement on critical issues, including grizzly bear recovery and regional haze accountability, is only made possible with your support. And if you’re in Jackson this weekend, stop by our run day booth at Jackson Elementary School this Saturday! You can find us at booth #55.

Rock Springs RMP - Protest by Sept. 23
On August 22nd, the Bureau of Land Management issued its proposed Resource Management Plan (RMP) and Final Environmental Impact Statement for the Rock Springs Field Office . The release of the final iteration of the plan kicks off a 30-day public protest period and a 60-day review period for Governor Mark Gordon. Earlier this year, hundreds of Sierra Club supporters sent letters to preserve migratory connected habitats, support Tribal co-stewardship, and call for an end to oil & gas leasing on public land. Unfortunately, our work to protect the Wyoming Red Desert is not done. While the final RMP reduces the acreage of new oil and gas leasing and expands some protections for crucial mule deer habitat, 2.5 million acres are still open to drilling, prominent Areas of Critical Environmental Concern (ACEC) have been nixed, and no mention is made of Tribal co-stewardship. Sierra Club is working to keep these important conservation and cultural protection measures in the final plan. Please contact Kaycee (kaycee.prevedel@sierraclub.org) to get involved.

Sierra Club Wyoming Chapter and Wind River Tribal Buffalo Initiative invite you to a bison tour and dinner from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. on October 14th, Indigenous Peoples Day. Patti & Jason Baldes, experts with the Wind River Native Advocacy Center and Tribal Buffalo Initiative, will lead a tour of the bison herd and share their thoughts on the significance of bison restoration to Native nations. Following the tour, we will have dinner at the Wind River buffalo camp, sponsored by the Sierra Club. The night will end with music, dancing, and a call for donations to increase the Eastern Shoshone & Northern Arapaho buffalo herds. This event is free and open to the public.
