Can you believe it’s already December? As the snow begins to fly, I hope you find some time to get outside and enjoy the splendor of Wyoming winter. From all of us at the Sierra Club Wyoming Chapter, best wishes to you and yours this holiday season.

Chapter Board election reminder: voting closes December 16

Don’t forget to cast your vote in this year’s chapter board election! Voting will take only a few minutes and is one of the most important ways you can support our organization. Our chapter board is responsible for overseeing chapter staff and volunteer activities, establishing our conservation priorities and policies, and overseeing our finances. Voting is for members only and will close on December 16th.

Welcome Emma Jones!

We are thrilled to introduce the newest member of the SCWY staff: Emma Jones! Emma has been a lead Wyoming Chapter volunteer for a number of years, supporting our public lands and wildlife work. She recently graduated from the University of Wyoming, where she studied Environment and Natural Resources, Political Science and Creative Writing and spent time organizing with the Environment and Natural Resources Club and as Co-Founder of the UW College Democrats.
Emma is guided by her love of Wyoming’s wild places, open landscapes, and tight-knit communities. She is excited to return to Laramie as a staff person and utilize her growing organizing experience to help us work towards a clean and just energy future here in Wyoming. 2024 Wrap-up

As we say goodbye to 2024, we’re reflecting on all we’ve accomplished together. From connecting people with nature through our expanding outings program to securing major victories to protect our air, water, and wild spaces, this has been a banner year for the Sierra Club Wyoming Chapter. While 2025 will not be without its challenges, we’re as confident as ever that, with your support, our team of dedicated staff and volunteers will be ready to meet those challenges head-on - including the upcoming 2025 legislative session. We will provide regular updates and alerts on our priority issues throughout the session. To stay informed, we encourage you to sign up for our special legislative email list, as we share these updates more frequently than other communications.

Laramie New Year's Party

Lastly, in the spirit of the new year, we invite our friends in Laramie to join us for a 2025 New Year’s Climate Resolution Party! This will be an opportunity to connect with like-minded neighbors and community members and learn how to implement sustainability practices in your life in 2025 and beyond. We hope to see you there and in the meantime, have a wonderful end to your year.
