Introduced in both the Assembly and the Senate, and referred to the Committee on Housing and Real Estate in the Assembly, and the Committee on Insurance, Housing and Trade in the Senate

The bill requires a landlord to test for lead in each plumbing system and water supply before entering into a leasing agreement with a tenant. The landlord must then disclose whether the tests found lead pipes or lead service lines to the potential tenant. If lead was indeed found, the landlord would be required by the bill to give a DNR pamphlet outlining the health hazards of lead to the tenant. If the landlord failed to do any of the above, the rental agreement would be voided and unenforceable.
