On August 13, Wisconsinites will be tasked with making a pivotal decision that will directly impact our clean energy future and the efficiency of our emergency response systems.
Hidden on the back of your ballot, there are confusing questions asking if the legislature should have to approve all federal funding. This is in direct response to the clean energy funding coming from the Biden Administration. We need that clean energy in order to stop the worst impacts of climate change.
There are unintended consequences as well. If these amendments pass, it could make it more difficult to access emergency response funding. With increased flooding and other natural disasters, we need federal funding to come to Wisconsin quickly. Waiting for the legislature to decide to take action would mean unnecessary delays and more harm to Wisconsinites.
Voting "No" on the proposed constitutional amendments is crucial to safeguarding critical funding for both clean energy initiatives and emergency response services.
