Proclamations
Governor Evers and several mayors in Wisconsin (including Madison, Eau Claire, La Crosse, Oshkosh, and Appleton, Neenah, Menasha) have proclaimed February 4, 2022 Transit Equity Day to commemorate Rosa Parks’ birthday.
Educational Events
Out of all of the participating states, Wisconsin advocates have organized the most events. From a virtual press conference, roses and posters on front bus seats in Eau Claire, displays about the civil rights movement and bus boycotts at the LaCrosse library, a call in day in Milwaukee to support the KRM rail line, numerous people thanking bus drivers with posters at bus stations, and a poem from Oshkosh's poet laureate Thomas Cannon about transit equity, the creativity and dedication to our public transportation system is so clear!
