If you dream of a community where everyone feels like they belong and where neighbors help each other and respect the planet, then you’ll love the Big Share. The Big Share is a fun-filled day of online action that raises vital funds for more than 70 non-profit organizations, including the Sierra Club Foundation-John Muir Chapter, who tackle issues from helping our neighbors to defending environmental protections.
This year’s Big Share kicks off at 6 pm on Monday, March 2 and wraps up at midnight on Tuesday, March 3. It’s a great opportunity to support the charitable work of the John Muir Chapter. Thanks to a generous gift from Chapter Chair, Don Ferber, the first $1,500 in donations will be DOUBLED, increasing the impact of your gift. Hosted by Community Shares of Wisconsin, the Big Share reflects the huge impact that individuals can have on a variety of important causes. Over the past five years, the event has raised over a quarter of a million dollars annually for Wisconsin-based causes.Among thousands of donors, it is always exciting to see those who are getting involved for the first time. Everything starts with a few people deciding it’s the time for action, and that same energy is what keeps an event successful year after year.
“The Big Share is a day to come together in support of the things we all care about—having clean water and air, building strong neighborhoods, protecting our civil rights, and making sure every child has a great future,” said CSW Executive Director Cheri Dubiel. “And The Big Share makes it easy to make a difference—whether that’s giving a small donation, attending events, or sharing about your favorite causes on social media.”
