Gorgeous Weather Greets Participants of Fox Valley Earth Day Hike

On Saturday, April 20, the Fox Valley Group hosted their annual Earth Day Hike with enormous success. 661 people from the surrounding communities of Neenah, Menasha, and Fox Crossing turned out to enjoy the Loop the Little Lake trail. The hike was free, the weather was gorgeous, and the trail is barrier-free and stroller-friendly, so the whole family could participate.

This year’s hike had the best turnout yet, and we couldn't have accomplished this without our dedicated Hike Committee, our Sierra Club volunteers, and the support of the communities of Neenah, Menasha and Fox Crossing. The Mayor of Neenah, Dean Kaufert, spent a half-hour with us at the registration station and was very impressed with the work of our volunteers.

I was amazed by how many residents turned out for the hike. There were families with strollers, kids with scooters, people working on their fitness goals, and groups going out just to enjoy the day. As people were finishing, we saw lots of smiles, and heard that some would include the Loop in their walking routines in the future!
