Arrive Together: Building a 21st Century Transportation System in Wisconsin

Transportation is vital.  It connects people to jobs, healthcare, the grocery store, school, houses of worship and more. For people who aren't able to drive, can't afford to drive or do not want to drive, getting from point A to point B can be expensive, burdensome - even impossible.

On December 3rd, transit users, community advocates and allies from around Wisconsin will gather in Milwaukee for Arrive Together to explore the impact of transportation on people in our state and how we can advocate for change. Excitingly, Sierra Club President Aaron Mair and US Secretary of Transportation Anthony Foxx (invited) are on the agenda as keynote speakers!

This event comes right as the debate on Wisconsin’s state budget is ramping up. In prior years, the transportation budget has been a point of contention, with some even advocating removing transit from the transportation budget and into the general fund. We know that for those who cannot drive, transit is more than an environmentally –friendly way to travel; it’s a necessity for life.

This makes our conversation on December 3 a vital one – and we invite everyone in our state to participate!
