There is a proposed new golf course that the Kohler Company wants to build adjacent to and including 4 acres of Kohler-Andrae State Park. The Department of Natural Resources (DNR) has now scheduled a public hearing on the proposed Kohler Golf Course and the draft Environmental Impact Statement (EIS).
If you wish to attend and provided comments the hearing will be:
Wednesday, July 20, 2016
6 p.m. to 9 p.m.
Sheboygan Falls High School Auditorium,
220 Amherst Ave, Sheboygan Falls, WI 53085.
The Department of Natural Resources will accept comments through August 1, 2016. You can read the draft EIS here.
Kohler Company (Kohler) has proposed to developing a high end 18-hole public golf course (a companion course to Whistling Straits, which cost $395 for 18 holes) along with a clubhouse and other amenities on 247 acres of undeveloped private land on Lake Michigan, adjacent to the northern boundary of the John Michael Kohler and Terry Andrae State Parks (Kohler-Andrae) in the Town of Wilson, Sheboygan Co. The development would require tree removal, wetland filling and grading, and a high capacity well.
Approving the EIS is the first step to approving the project, so this is an important time to weigh in with your thoughts.
If you can’t attend the hearing, you can send comments to the DNR here:
