Electric School Bus Welcomed
South Whidbey School District just welcomed a new electric school bus. The bus was granted to the district through the EPA Clean School Program Rebate. The United Student Leaders group was behind the district's application for the rebate.
This zero-emission bus will not only reduce the district's impact on the environment, but it is also much healthier for students riding it. |

Citizens and Lawsuit Save Trees
Speaking up for trees makes a difference! Currently the state Board of Natural Resources has taken all mature forests off the list for auction. Though this is likely a temporary reprieve for our forests, it does indicate that the 500 messages the Board received made an impact. Thank you to all who spoke up.
Additionally, the DNR will need to reconsider their legal standing in light of the lawsuit ruling that DNR must evaluate the climate effects of each forest sale. |
