· H.R. 3630, the PUGET SOS Act, which seeks to designate the Sound as a water of national significance and to integrate and align Federal restoration efforts with the ongoing efforts of state, local, and tribal governments promoting Puget Sound cleanup efforts,
· Securing funding and highlighting the need for increased funding for vital environmental programs including the Puget Sound, the Land and Water Conservation Fund, the National Estuary Program, Legacy Roads and Trails, and salmon recovery activities,
· Introducing the Tribal Coastal Resiliency Act, a bill that would expand the Coastal Zone Management Act to recognize the severe challenges tribal governments face in implementing coastal and shoreline measures that support public safety, public access, and cultural and historic preservation,
· Reintroducing, along with Senator Murray, the Wild Olympics Wilderness & Wild and Scenic Rivers Act that would protect over 125,000 acres of wilderness area and include 19 rivers and tributaries in the Wild and Scenic River system,
· Pushing for the reauthorization of the Land and Water Conservation Fund, which helps protect and enhance outdoor spaces that draw visitors and boost local businesses,
· Cosponsoring the Wildfire Disaster Funding Act that would establish a responsible funding mechanism so that catastrophic wildfires would be treated like other natural disasters,
· Joining regional leaders from the National Forest Service, local governments, the local timber industry, and environmental advocacy groups to officially launch the Olympic Peninsula Forest Collaborative, which is focused on landscape restoration, watershed protection, and habitat conservation that will responsibly increase harvest levels and create economic opportunities on the Olympic Peninsula.
