We are saddened to report that a tragic canoe mishap on Yellowstone Lake, September 20 has apparently claimed the life of Kim Crumbo, former Utah SC ExCom member, and lifelong environmental champion. We say apparently, because Kim’s body has yet to be recovered. The accident claimed the life of Kim’s brother Mark O’Neill, whose body was recovered and whose death was caused by effects of hypothermia. As the Sierran goes to press, a recovery operation by the National Park Service is still underway. Kim is a person to whom the Sierra Club and the nation are indebted for his commitments and contributions borne by his humility, knowledge, and love of the wild. We mourn this tragic loss, and we offer our sincere condolences to their families. Further information at: https://www.nps.gov/yell/learn/news/21027.htm
