On April 16, 2024, the Sierra Club met with the U.S. Forest Service in Sam Houston National Forest, in Little Lake Creek Wilderness Area, to view problems that are related to non-native invasive plant species and the Lone Star Hiking Trail.

It was a lovely day at Attwater Prairie Chicken National Wildlife Refuge (APNWR). The temperature was in the low 80’s, partly cloudy, but mostly sunny, and a steady 15 mph wind.

San Marcos River Cleanup

On Saturday March 2, some 200 volunteers turned out to clean up trash along the San Marcos River from Rio Vista Dam in San Marcos all of the way down to Palmetto State Park – that’s around 60 river miles!
