Guide to San Antonio Natural Areas & Greenway Trails

The Guide to San Antonio Natural Areas & Creekway Trails was originally a partnership between the Alamo Group of the Sierra Club and Alamo Area Master Naturalists. The original 16 articles were meant as a guide to the Oak Loop Trail in Phil Hardberger Park (West). The partnership is in its fifth year of leading 4th Saturday interpretive hikes in that park for the Phil Hardberger Park Conservancy.

However, since the guide was first conceived, most of its articles have been expanded to be generally applicable to all local Natural Areas. Each Talking Point of the current about two dozen has been authored by a local expert and edited by Alamo Area Master Naturalists. Each is written for the novice but many contain links to more sophisticated treatments. The articles are heavily illustrated with photographs from our local natural areas or the Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center.

Each may be accessed from the Talking Points table below.
