On Thursday January 14, the Middle Tennessee Group for Sierra Club conducted a Zoom program focused on the Nashville Food Co-Op..

Ellery Richardson, President of the Nashville Food Co-op, joined us for a program about the emerging food cooperative in Nashville.

Ellery Richardson

The Nashville Food Co-op is a community grocery in the process of building the start-up memberships needed to open the doors to become a fully functioning food cooperative. A co-op is a business that sells goods and services primarily for the benefit of its members, but many co-ops also support other parts of the community. The NFC is built on a locally sourced, sustainably operated and community owned model. The Nashville Food Co-op intends to provide a locally owned year-round grocery store which will offer local meats, dairy produce, and other seasonal products.

Hear from Ellery about the principles of this emerging food co-op and the potential it has to serve our Middle Tennessee community.
