On Thursday Nov. 12, at 7:00 pm, the Middle Tennessee Group for Sierra Club will be conducting a Zoom program at 7:00 pm focused on an ongoing study of the Mound Bottom State Archaeological Area.

Aaron Deter-Wolf, Prehistoric Archaeologist with the Tennessee Division of Archaeology for the State of Tennessee, will lead the presentation.  Aaron manages archaeological sites on State-owned lands.

In his work he investigates disturbances to ancient Native American graves, conducts archaeological excavations and research, and informs the public about archaeology.

The Mound Bottom State Archaeological Area is located along the Harpeth River west of Nashville, and with the adjacent Pack site comprises the largest Native American mound complex in the Nashville Basin during the eleventh through fourteenth centuries AD.
