And the winner is... Our Volunteers at Coastal Clean Up Day

Please give a round of applause to some of the MVPs at the 2017 Santa Clara River Gateway Coastal Clean Up Day site. Sierra Club couldn’t have done it without them!

Most Amazing New Volunteer: Ken Foulks did it all!  Sign in table guru,1st aid expert, fast food server, shopping cart wrangler. See him in action here: https://youtu.be/7dl958Q3W-g

Favorite Returning Volunteers:  Charlene Bouvet and students from Sierra Linda school (Oxnard) have come to this site for 4 years.  That’s every year we have been open! Inspiration is ours!!

Happy, Dependable and Fun:  Oxnard College geography students and friends are a pleasure to have and are becoming a very valuable asset. “Whoa, that sign in table is crazy busy,” Jose Flores realized after helping at the event start. Sergio Flores, photographer and videographer kept up with the shopping cart haul ins. Steve Cabellero assisted everywhere needed. Albert Dominguez made the popular choice to pick up 100 donated Chick Fil A sandwiches (and commited to return the hot restaurant totes).

Our Captains’ Spouses:  Behind every good woman is…a fabulous spouse! THANK you to Jim Danza and Dino Meneghin husbands of the 2 site captains. Their help and support was indispensable.  Why does he do it? “Are you kidding,” quipped Dino “am thinking to switch careers to trash weighing anyway!”
