Shadowrock and Chino Canyon
Join us as Jeff Morgan, Chairman of our Sierra Club Tahquitz Group, will provide a first-hand account of the efforts involved in preventing the destruction of beautiful Chino Canyon.
Our meeting is December 2nd, 7:30 PM, at the San Bernardino County Museum, 2024 Orange Tree Lane, Redlands.
Chino Canyon is the last undeveloped alluvial fan in the urbanized areas of the Coachella Valley. Local residents and environmental organizations, led by the Tahquitz Group (which covers the Coachella and Morongo Valleys), reviewed the proposed Shadowrock development plans and quickly determined this would be the beginning of the destruction of Chino Canyon. They were not about to sit back and let this happen.
