Earth Day Events Around Redwood Chapter

April 19, 12 p.m. Action for Environmental and Climate Justice, San Francisco
Members from more than 60 groups representing indigenous populations, environmental justice, climate, health and environmental organizations will rally and march to the SF Federal Building to demand a reversal on the Trump Administration’s attack on science, environmental regulations and climate action. Meet in front of U.S. EPA headquarters, 75 Hawthorne St., S.F. (between 2nd and 3rd / Howard and Folsom streets). More details here.

April 19-25 Godwit Days, Arcata
Honoring the marbled godwits, the day of celebration includes field trips, lectures, workshops and boat excursiions in the Klamath bioregion. North Group will be tabling at this event.  More details here.

April 20, 11 a.m.-1:30 p.m. Sign-Making Party, Santa Rosa Junior College
Stoke your creative juices and make your own sign to hold in the upcoming local March for Science and People's Climate March events.

New, old and prospective members are welcome to mingle and nosh in an evening of conversation and fellowship. A short presentation about Sierra Club will be at 6 p.m.

April 20 Earth Day Celebration, Clearlake
11 a.m. - 1 p.m. Woodland Community College will host the event with food, music, speakers and tabling by local groups including Lake Group

April 22 Earth Day Rally and March, Humboldt State University, Arcata
11 a.m. begins at the Quad in front of the Student Union at HSU.

April 22 March for Science, 12 p.m. Julliard Park, Santa Rosa
Sierra Club marchers will meet before the march at 11:45 a.m. in the Naked Pig Café parking lot so we can march together. 435 Santa Rosa Ave. More information here.

April 22, Earth Day Celebration, 8:45 a.m. to 1 p.m., Trinidad State Beach

The North Coast Redwoods District of the California State Parks will host a public ivy pulling party and restoration in the Sitka spruce forests. Please wear sturdy shoes, hat and gloves, and bring water and a lopper if you have one. All ages welcome. A BBQ and picnic lunch will be provided for all who volunteer. April 29 Earthfest, Upper Lake 
10 a.m. - 4 p.m. Hosted by the Habematolel Pomo of Upper Lake and co-sponsored by Sierra Club Lake Group, the celebration will have food, music, games and information about zero waste. More details here.
