Flannery’s Proposed New Town
The Sierra Club strongly opposes the California Forever ballot proposal to construct a new town with a population of 400,000 on 17,500 acres of vital habitat and grazing land in south-east Solano County. The organization cites concerns about secretive land acquisitions, lawsuits against local farmers, and a lack of transparency, which has fueled a widespread mistrust. Additionally, the withdrawal and subsequent replacement of their submitted initiative to Solano County have heightened voter misgivings about the project.
