Oakland, CA -- The Sierra Club has launched a campaign encouraging people to call on their utilities to reject dirty fuels that may be mined in Grand Staircase Escalante and Bears Ears national monuments. Following Secretary of the Interior Ryan Zinke and Donald Trump illegally shrinking and dismantling these national monuments, corporate polluters can now bid on leases to mine, frack, and drill in these public spaces for dirty fuels.

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Today, House Democrats outlined an infrastructure plan, A Better Deal to Rebuild America, which stands in stark contrast to the leaked Trump plan by actually proposing real solutions to fix the degraded state of infrastructure in the United States. The plan is five times larger than the rumored Trump proposal, and includes comprehensive investments in areas like clean energy and improving the grid, as well as proposes forward thinking solutions that take into account “stronger, more resilient transportation networks and public infrastructure to withstand rising sea levels, a changing climate, extreme weather and predicted seismic events”.

Boston, M.A. — Independent System Operator New England (ISO-NE), the regional electric grid operator for Connecticut, Rhode Island, Massachusetts, Vermont, New Hampshire, and most of Maine announced the results of its capacity auction yesterday. The auction will ensure that the region has enough electricity generating capacity to keep the lights on through 2021.
