WASHINGTON, D.C. -- Today, the Trump administration released the text of the U.S.-Mexico-Canada trade agreement. The administration has notified Congress of Trump’s intent to sign the proposed deal later this year, setting the stage for a potential fight over the deal in the next Congress. The U.S.-Mexico-Canada deal includes weak environmental terms that have historically enabled outsourcing of pollution and jobs, fails to make any mention of climate change, and includes special handouts to oil and gas corporations.

On Monday, October 1, 2018, Chicago will host the nation’s only hearing where the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) will seek public comment on the administration’s plan to repeal the Obama-era Clean Power Plan (CPP) and replace it with the Affordable Clean Energy (ACE) plan. ACE has been dubbed the Dirty Power Plan by advocacy groups because it rolls back pollution controls on coal-fired plants and doesn't demand pollution reductions from states or coal companies.

WASHINGTON, D.C. -- Today, the Washington Post reported that the the Trump administration foresees the world will have a seven degree increase in temperature by 2100 -- and the administration used that as justification to continue to roll back climate protections, like the clean car standards. According to scientists, this level of temperature increase would be catastrophic for civilization. Still, the analysis from the Trump administration does not call for climate action, and instead surrenders to the whims of big polluters.

WASHINGTON D.C. — On behalf of Sierra Club, Waterkeeper Alliance, and Local Environmental Action Demanded (“LEAD Agency”), Earthjustice filed a lawsuit against the U.S. EPA to block EPA from transferring federal oversight over disposal of toxic coal ash in Oklahoma to the state. The Oklahoma program runs directly counter to a federal court appeals court ruling the same organizations won that bans unlined toxic coal ash ponds from continuing to operate.
