The military already controls 2.9 million acres in Nevada with no public access allowed, and this proposal would shut the public out of another 300,000 acres.

Washington, DC -- On Tuesday, the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) granted Dominion Energy approval to begin chopping down trees for a super-polluting fracked gas compressor station, despite Virginia not having approved permits for the project. Dominion has planned to construct the compressor station in the Union Hill neighborhood of Richmond, which is predominantly African American, and is necessary in its plans to construct the much maligned fracked gas Atlantic Coast Pipeline.

AUSTIN, Tex. - On Thursday morning, in a 9 -1 vote, Austin City Council approved a Austin Energy utility-scale solar contract for a 144 MW solar power plant to be located southeast of Pflugerville. When the project is completed in 2020, along with additional contracted solar and wind projects, the utility will have nearly 940 MWs of utility-scale solar under contract and will generate more than 52 percent of all energy demand from renewable energy sources.

RALEIGH, NC – On Monday, October 15, the Wake County Board of Commissioners voted to commit to transition county operations to 100 percent clean and renewable energy countywide by 2050.
