They followed in the footsteps of the traitors whose flag they waved, threatening the safety of hardworking public servants and of our democracy. While their violence went unchecked, their insurrection and the elected leaders whose treasonous lies and rhetoric drove their actions must be held accountable.

CHICAGO, IL -- Save Our Illinois Land (SOIL), the Sierra Club, NRDC (Natural Resources Defense Council), and area landowner William Klingele filed an appeal this week of the Illinois Commerce Commission (ICC) decision to approve the expansion of the pump stations for the Dakota Access Pipeline (DAPL) and Energy Transfer Crude Oil Pipeline (ETCOP), which will enable the pipelines to nearly double the amount of crude oil they transport.

The sale attracted a tepid response from bidders, bringing in only $14.4 million in revenue. When Congressional Republicans pushed through a rider opening the Arctic Refuge for drilling as part of the 2017 tax bill, they claimed that two lease sales in the Refuge would generate $1 billion of revenue
